How to clear Blackberry Mail message status: Transaction Error - failure at service

While trying to setup and send a mail with my Blackberry integrated email this afternoon, I encountered the above error. TRANSACTION ERROR- FAILURE AT SERVICE.

At first, it was disturbing, as I couldn't clear it via battery pull (removing and inserting the battery).

I had to take some time to research on a way to clear it.

I have simplified the steps via pictures, so you can follow it in case you experience such.

1. From menu screen, click on OPTIONS select DEVICE and when it opens select ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS.

2. From the Advanced system settings screen, click on SERVICE BOOK.

3. When it opens, scroll down and highlight the (CMIME) service book of email that has the error issues. To confirm, press Menu (blackberry logo) and select view. You will see where CMIME is shown.

4. While on the highlighted email, press menu (blackberry logo) and select delete. And close.

5. Goto the home screen, click setup. Select EMAILS. From the email screen, press menu (BB logo) and scroll down to service books. Select it and click on send service books. Close the screen.

6. After a while you will receive a message of activation.
You can then send mails from your blackberry integrated email.

Was this info useful to you? Were the steps simple enough? Leave a comment.
