Role: Mobile Application Developer

Responsibilities:

1. Acting as iOS and/or Android developer. Depending on the skills set can be lead on one platform and play a supporting role across the other


2. Deliver across the entire app life cycle –concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support


3. Working directly with product managers to conceptualise, build, test and realise products


4. Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions


5. Build prototypes at tech scoping stage of projects


6. Working along with the web developer to create and maintain a robust framework to support the apps


7. Working with the front end developers to build the interface with focus on usability features


8. Create compelling device specific user interfaces and experiences


9. Standardizing the platform and in some cases apps to deliver across multiple brands with minimal duplication of effort


10. Optimising performance for the apps


11. Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in the mobile technologies


12. Explain technologies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders


13. Attend industry events/ conference – both attending and presenting

Experience and Qualifications

1. - HND / BSC in Computer Science or a relevant field.


2. - 1 years minimum cognate experience.


3. - Ability to meet and exceed target.


4. -Ability to multi task and good time management skills


5. -Ability to work on their own and as a part of the team


6. - Applicant must be outspoken and friendly

Essential skills:

1. Familiar with iOS SDK Strong OO design and programming skills in Java (J2EE/ J2ME


2. Familiar with the Android SDK


3. Knowledge of SQLite, MySQL or similar database management system


4. Experience of development using web technologies


5. Good understanding of OO programming and design patterns


6. Good understanding of HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery and PHP


7. Using version control (e.g. SVN)


8. Excellent debugging and optimisation skills
